Hi there. My name is Dmytro Rublov, or just Dima. I follow my family’s traditions, where my parents and grandparents are always involved in different DIY activities.
As a child, I was very curious. I destroyed many perfectly functional devices by disassembling them, so it’s hard to put them back together without having some “spare” components you don’t know where to put anymore. My father taught me soldering, my mother helped with different crafts at school, and I helped my grandfather(and my father) with plumbing and other home repairs.
Eventually, I learned that many home repairs can be handled with simple tools and some common sense.
I like learning how things are made and how everything works. In 2020, I got my first 3D printer (thanks to my wife for a birthday present). In a year, I assembled another 3D printer from parts — a Voron 0.1 — and later replaced many components to update it to version 0.2. By this point, it became a perfect illustration of Theseus’s Paradox because most of its original parts got replaced, sometimes - multiple times. I learned much about the process from mechanical, software, and maintenance.
When I have the opportunity, I purchase used Lenovo Thinkpad or Dell Latitude laptops, clean/fix/upgrade them, and ship them to Ukraine. An Army SOS Foundation helps supply Ukraine’s defenders with electronic equipment to improve communication, planning, etc.
Some time ago, I met interesting people like Josef Průša(creator of pretty good 3D printers) and Mehdi Sadaghdar (known by his YouTube channel “ElectroBOOM”) at the “Open Sauce” event in San Francisco in 2023, This page is an excellent place to show you photos taken there as proof that I’m a real person and not an AI-driven script that publishes web pages based on some schedule. Check this out:

I like 3D printing, tinkering, creating, and repairing things.
I will share some knowledge on this website in the areas where I have enough experience(I know about the Dunning–Kruger effect; I hope that’s not my case, and I actually know what I’m doing) to share it with others without causing more harm than good.
